Vinyasa Flow is a style of linking breath to movement, ultimately moving in a more fluid fashion. As one of the most popular styles of yoga practiced in the West, Vinyasa will keep you moving and building heat. Our teachers have been trained in a variety of styles and each teacher brings their own interpretation to ‘Flow’. Some moving slower and more methodical, with more focus on alignment. Others moving with more vigor. We encourage you try all of our classes, as a certain style may speak to you at different points in your life. We are also available to answer any questions and to guide you to a class that might best meet your needs or preferences.
The true spirit of yoga has zero competition or comparison. If you are new to yoga, you are welcome in any of our classes. Just honor your body and do what you are able to do, knowing that each time you return to class you will grow in strength, balance, knowledge and peace. Be patient, let it come slowly. You can control the intensity for each class, by either taking more breaks, or trying more advanced versions of poses. Simply start where your mind and body are at and build from there.
We aim to maintain the temperature of Northern Fire Yoga studio in a range of 72 to 78 degrees. At the start of class, the studio will be warmer and will cool slightly as the students warm up. We are at the mercy of northern Wisconsin weather and will do our best to offer a room temperature that will support a healthy yoga practice.
If you’ve never been to Northern Fire Yoga, here are a few things, you should know leading up to your first visit:
Brand new to yoga?
The beauty of yoga is that it is about making it your own and meeting and greeting your body exactly where it is at. At Northern Fire Yoga all levels are welcome. Be sure to wear comfortable workout clothing to class. You might want to go with something slightly fitted as baggy clothes can often get in the way of poses. You’ll also be barefoot. Let the instructor know that you’re new to yoga. He or she will provide modifications of certain poses and help you during class.
We strive to provide advance notice of updates to our class schedule by posting on our website and in our eNewsletter. We reserve the right to modify the class schedule without notice.
Severe weather or snow may disrupt our normal class schedule. In the event of strong winds, freezing rain and/or snow, classes may be cancelled at the last minute. Please check our website or social media platforms for updates to the schedule. If WI Highway Patrol has issued a driving emergency due to snow or ice, classes will likely be cancelled.
The scheduled teacher posted online may change without notice due to last minute teacher substitutions. Please note that teacher substitutions on the online schedule may not be updated immediately.
In the event of a last-minute teacher emergency during which a substitute teacher cannot be found, the class may be cancelled without notice.
All participants attending any class or enrollment event at Northern Fire Yoga are required to complete a registration form and waiver of liability.
All participants in any class or other enrollment event must be 18 years old. Any person 17 years and under must have a parent or guardian’s legal consent in order to participate in any class or enrollment event. Youth under the age of 12 may be required to have supervisory accompaniment by a parent or guardian to any class or event.
